Custom desktop arcade built from scratch as a final high school project

Background

After watching the instructional YouTube video “Build a RetroPie Bartop Arcade Cabinet with a Raspberry Pi”, which clearly outlines the steps for building a homemade arcade machine, I began to wonder whether it’s possible to create a similar arcade machine at home using the simple methods learned in the Technology Program (in Swedish high school), while ensuring it is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
